The  quatro folhas carolino rice corresponds to the genuinely Portuguese variety, being cultivated in the estuaries of the Sado, Tejo and Mondego rivers, where a combination of factors such as soil, temperature, number of hours of sunshine and water give the rise its uniqueness .

 

This is a cereal is characterized by having a short, fat white bago, with greater flavor-absorbing power and a low amylose content (one of the starch components). Once cooked, the grain is loosened, rounded and wrapped in a creamy, velvety sauce.
